Luna dei Feldi Alto Adige DOC

If by rhapsody we mean a musical composition whose character is very free and varied, the corresponding example in the world of wine could well be represented by Luna dei Feldi, a white wine whose mix of varieties includes two non-aromatic grapes, Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco, a semi-aromatic variety (Müller Thurgau), and an aromatic one (Gewürztraminer). The first two cultivars contribute to its structural make-up with body (part of the Chardonnay ferments and matures in wood) and tanginess; the Müller Thurgau contributes delicate herbal notes, while the Gewürztraminer seals the aromatic deal with the thrust of its floral and tropical hints, all of which go to make up a dynamic and continually shimmering succession of sensations: a veritable “liquid” rhapsody.
